Do you hear anything?
This is a 5 by 7 porcelain painting on a porcelain tile with a very alert jackrabbit looking and listening. One of the things I enjoy about painting is that I get to know the subject in ways that I never would. Did you know jackrabbits had such long eyelashes. Imagine looking at the world with your eyes on each side of your head? I think I have pretty big ears until I look at this guy!

Black-capped Chickadee
Where I live there are is always a chorus of birds. Sometimes they are so loud they wake me up in the morning! One of my favorites is the black capped chickadee. This little bird hangs out with a little gang of birds who frequent my feeders. Along with the chickadees, there are titmice, and nuthatches. I don't know who is the boss of the gang! But they all move along together. This is on a little 4x6 porcelain tile.

time for a nap
There is a little glare on the left side of this photo. This cat doesn't look too comfy sleeping on pears to me but isn't it funny the places cats will sleep? When painting on porcelain, there is always the chance that the piece will crack while it is being fired in the kiln and that is just what happened. If you look closely you will notice a curved line going across the cat's back and over the pear and ending near the corner of her mouth. "Well, there is no use crying over spilled milk" as the cat would say!

tray and plate with yucca
I visited ConCan Texas and there were some great yucca blooming. So of course I had to take photos and of course I had to try to paint them. Add a vulture, jackrabbit cactus, wildflowers and stir and you have the wonder of God's creations. Enjoy!

hand painted porcelain cat spoon-rests
After not adding anything for a loooooooog time, I have decided it is time. My plan is to put something up each day until I am caught up. These two cat spoon rests were painted to donate to an auction. I enjoyed painting them and I hope whoever purchased them will provide a good home for them. As a reminder, since its been a while, I paint on porcelain. Meow.

Here is a raccoon baby, hem, I need to look up what raccoon babies are called. Bet it is "busy"! This is a framed 8x10 tile that has gone to a new home. We had 2 raccoons trying to eat the dogfood on the back porch. The dominant one would not let the smaller one eat. The smaller one turned away from the food and then backed up close to the bowl and snuck a bite while the other was eating.
